HPCL Gains 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 0.5%

HPCL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 422.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 30,297.6 (up 0.5%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are BPCL (up 2.7%) and IOC (up 2.0%).

ONGC (down 1.0%) and ADANI TOTAL GAS (down 0.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 169.4 to Rs 422.6, registering a gain of Rs 253.2 (up 149.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,704.1 to 30,297.6, registering a gain of 62.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 149.5%), BPCL (up 103.8%) and GAIL (up 88.7%).

The BSE Sensex is at 81,763.4 (down 0.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (down 1.9%) and Bajaj Finance (down 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Reliance Ind..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,033.2 (down 0.4%). Bajaj Auto and M&M are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,473.1 to 81,763.4, registering a gain of 15,290.3 points (up 23.0%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit fell 95.9% YoY to Rs 2,459 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 60,658 million a year ago. Net sales rose 1.5% to Rs 1,209,433 million during the period as against Rs 1,191,623 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, HPCL reported 329.4% increase in net profit to Rs 160,146 million compared to net loss of Rs 69,802 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 2.2% to Rs 4,057,439 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 10.7.
