HPCL Gains 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.8%

HPCL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 388.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 27,283.0 (down 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are BPCL (up 0.5%) and IOC (up 0.4%).

Reliance Ind. (down 50.1%) and Petronet LNG (down 3.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 164.0 to Rs 388.6, registering a gain of Rs 224.6 (up 136.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,128.5 to 27,283.0, registering a gain of 50.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 136.9%), BPCL (up 81.1%) and GAIL (up 71.3%).

The BSE Sensex is at 79,572.0 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are ICICI Bank (up 2.9%) and SBI (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC Bank and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,257.1 (up 0.3%). Shriram Transport and ICICI Bank are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,049.1 to 79,572.0, registering a gain of 15,522.9 points (up 24.2%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit fell 89.6% YoY to Rs 5,347 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 51,280 million a year ago. Net sales rose 5.5% to Rs 1,082,676 million during the period as against Rs 1,026,693 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, HPCL reported 329.4% increase in net profit to Rs 160,146 million compared to net loss of Rs 69,802 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 2.2% to Rs 4,057,439 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 21.8.
