HPCL Gains 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.0%

HPCL share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 431.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 32,970.4 .

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GUJARAT GAS (up 10.1%) and IOC (up 1.3%).

GAIL (down 1.2%) and ONGC (down 0.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 176.0 to Rs 431.2, registering a gain of Rs 255.2 (up 145.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,794.1 to 32,970.4, registering a gain of 75.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 145.0%), BPCL (up 101.6%) and GAIL (up 100.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,494.7 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Bajaj Finserv (up 3.5%) and HCl Tech. (up 3.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,256.2 (up 0.1%). Bajaj Finserv and HCl Tech. are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,075.8 to 82,494.7, registering a gain of 17,418.9 points (up 26.8%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit fell 95.9% YoY to Rs 2,459 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 60,658 million a year ago. Net sales rose 1.5% to Rs 1,209,433 million during the period as against Rs 1,191,623 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, HPCL reported 329.4% increase in net profit to Rs 160,146 million compared to net loss of Rs 69,802 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 2.2% to Rs 4,057,439 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 10.9.
