HCC Plunges 7%; BSE REALTY Index Down 4.7%

HCC share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 48.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE REALTY index is at 7,714.5 (down 4.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE REALTY index today are Godrej Properties (down 6.1%) and INDIABULLS REAL EST (down 5.9%).

Over the last one year, HCC has moved up from Rs 19.5 to Rs 48.6, registering a gain of Rs 29.1 (up 149.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE REALTY index has moved up from 4,455.6 to 7,714.5, registering a gain of 73.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE REALTY index stocks during this same period were PRESTIGE ESTATES (up 183.7%), Sobha (up 180.1%) and Brigade Enterprises (up 92.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,577.0 (down 3.0%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 6.9%) and Tata Steel (down 5.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,006.5 (down 2.9%). Tata Motors and ONGC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,459.3 to 78,577.0, registering a gain of 12,117.7 points (up 18.2%).

HCC Financial Update...

HCC net profit grew 14.3% YoY to Rs 2,274 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,990 million a year ago. Net sales declined 26.9% to Rs 17,731 million during the period as against Rs 24,263 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, HCC reported 104.7% decrease in net profit to Rs -266 million compared to net profit of Rs 5,717 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 7.6% to Rs 98,566 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HCC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 16.4.
