Escorts share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 3,896.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 57,340.2 (down 0.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO index today are Bajaj Auto (down 3.0%) and Hero Motocorp (down 2.8%).

M&M (up 0.9%) and Motherson Sumi (up 0.7%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Escorts has moved up from Rs 2,364.6 to Rs 3,896.2, registering a gain of Rs 1,531.6 (up 64.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 35,665.1 to 57,340.2, registering a gain of 60.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Motherson Sumi (up 111.1%), Cummins India (up 100.8%) and Bajaj Auto (up 94.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,537.6 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Asian Paints (down 2.0%) and NTPC (down 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,553.2 (down 0.2%). Bajaj Auto and Hero Motocorp are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,589.9 to 80,537.6, registering a gain of 13,947.7 points (up 20.9%).

Escorts Financial Update...

Escorts net profit grew 15.3% YoY to Rs 2,372 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,057 million a year ago. Net sales declined 5.5% to Rs 20,935 million during the period as against Rs 22,145 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Escorts reported 64.8% increase in net profit to Rs 10,491 million compared to net profit of Rs 6,367 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.0% to Rs 88,496 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Escorts, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 41.7.
