Castrol Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 2.9%

Castrol share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 217.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 28,078.6 (up 2.9%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GAIL (up 6.3%) and HPCL (up 4.4%).

Over the last one year, Castrol has moved up from Rs 134.3 to Rs 217.5, registering a gain of Rs 83.2 (up 62.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,960.3 to 28,078.6, registering a gain of 48.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 124.1%), BPCL (up 73.5%) and Petronet LNG (up 70.0%).

The BSE Sensex is at 80,377.3 (up 1.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are TCS (up 4.2%) and Infosys (up 4.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,490.0 (up 1.1%). Bharat Electronics and Adani Enterprises are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,958.7 to 80,377.3, registering a gain of 15,418.6 points (up 23.7%).

Castrol Financial Update...

Castrol net profit grew 6.7% YoY to Rs 2,074 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,944 million a year ago. Net sales rose 8.9% to Rs 12,882 million during the period as against Rs 11,829 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended December 2023, Castrol reported 6.0% increase in net profit to Rs 8,641 million compared to net profit of Rs 8,152 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 6.3% to Rs 50,746 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Castrol, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 24.0.
