Castrol share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 261.4.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 32,572.3 (up 0.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Indraprastha Gas (up 0.7%) and BPCL (up 0.7%).

ONGC is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Castrol has moved up from Rs 146.6 to Rs 261.4, registering a gain of Rs 114.9 (up 78.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,865.5 to 32,572.3, registering a gain of 72.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 129.5%), GAIL (up 108.0%) and BPCL (up 99.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,658.1 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Ultratech Cement (down 1.7%) and Kotak Bank (down 1.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,680.1 (down 0.1%). Ultratech Cement and Kotak Bank are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,216.1 to 80,658.1, registering a gain of 15,442.0 points (up 23.7%).

Castrol Financial Update...

Castrol net profit grew 3.1% YoY to Rs 2,322 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,253 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.8% to Rs 13,975 million during the period as against Rs 13,338 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended December 2023, Castrol reported 6.0% increase in net profit to Rs 8,641 million compared to net profit of Rs 8,152 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 6.3% to Rs 50,746 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Castrol, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 29.2.
