Castrol Gains 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.2%

Castrol share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 270.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 32,858.5 (down 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Indraprastha Gas (up 0.7%) and ONGC (up 0.1%).

Petronet LNG (down 1.2%) and IOC (down 0.5%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Castrol has moved up from Rs 143.6 to Rs 270.2, registering a gain of Rs 126.6 (up 88.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,693.3 to 32,858.5, registering a gain of 75.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 149.2%), BPCL (up 102.8%) and GAIL (up 101.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,486.4 (down 0.1%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Bajaj Finance (down 1.6%) and Infosys (down 0.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,270.5 . Bajaj Finance and TATA STEEL 2% CCPS are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,087.3 to 82,486.4, registering a gain of 17,399.2 points (up 26.7%).

Castrol Financial Update...

Castrol net profit grew 3.1% YoY to Rs 2,322 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,253 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.8% to Rs 13,975 million during the period as against Rs 13,338 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended December 2023, Castrol reported 6.0% increase in net profit to Rs 8,641 million compared to net profit of Rs 8,152 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 6.3% to Rs 50,746 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Castrol, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 30.2.
