CONT.PETRO Plunges 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.8%

CONT.PETRO share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 73.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 28,514.6 (down 0.8%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are BPCL (down 2.2%) and HPCL (down 1.7%).

GUJARAT GAS (up 0.4%) and Reliance Ind. (up 0.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, CONT.PETRO has moved up from Rs 52.2 to Rs 73.5, registering a gain of Rs 21.3 (up 40.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,362.7 to 28,514.6, registering a gain of 55.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 99.4%), HPCL (up 81.8%) and IOC (up 78.6%).

The BSE Sensex is at 77,818.0 (up 0.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Axis Bank (up 2.4%) and HDFC Bank (up 2.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,665.1 (up 0.5%). Axis Bank and HDFC Bank are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,523.2 to 77,818.0, registering a gain of 14,294.9 points (up 22.5%).

CONT.PETRO Financial Update...

CONT.PETRO net profit fell 20.7% YoY to Rs 14 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 18 million a year ago. Net sales declined 29.5% to Rs 193 million during the period as against Rs 274 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, CONT.PETRO reported 3.2% decrease in net profit to Rs 39 million compared to net profit of Rs 41 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 18.9% to Rs 984 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of CONT.PETRO, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 15.0.
