Biocon Gains 4%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 0.3%

Biocon share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 392.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE index is at 44,425.8 (up 0.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE index today are MAX HEALTHCARE INSTITUTE (up 2.5%) and Jubilant Pharmova (up 2.1%).

HIKAL CHEMIC (down 3.0%) and FDC (down 2.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Biocon has moved up from Rs 267.0 to Rs 392.0, registering a gain of Rs 125.0 (up 46.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE index has moved up from 28,294.8 to 44,425.8, registering a gain of 57.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE index stocks during this same period were Jubilant Pharmova (up 181.2%), SUVEN PHARMACEUTICALS (up 129.2%) and Glenmark Pharma (up 114.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 83,026.7 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are JSW Steel (up 2.1%) and NTPC (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,401.0 (up 0.2%). JSW Steel and NTPC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,221.1 to 83,026.7, registering a gain of 15,805.6 points (up 23.5%).

Biocon Financial Update...

Biocon net profit grew 373.3% YoY to Rs 8,618 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,821 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.3% to Rs 34,329 million during the period as against Rs 34,226 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Biocon reported 101.8% increase in net profit to Rs 12,978 million compared to net profit of Rs 6,430 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 32.1% to Rs 147,557 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Biocon, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 22.8.
