BPCL Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 3.8%

BPCL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 300.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 26,708.6 (up 3.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are HPCL (up 5.2%) and ONGC (up 5.0%).

Over the last one year, BPCL has moved up from Rs 194.1 to Rs 300.0, registering a gain of Rs 106.0 (up 54.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,294.2 to 26,708.6, registering a gain of 38.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 86.6%), Petronet LNG (up 70.4%) and GAIL (up 60.3%).

BPCL Financial Update...

BPCL net profit fell 79.3% YoY to Rs 16,414 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 79,435 million a year ago. Net sales rose 1.1% to Rs 1,179,488 million during the period as against Rs 1,166,573 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, BPCL reported 1160.4% increase in net profit to Rs 268,588 million compared to net profit of Rs 21,311 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 5.7% to Rs 3,891,735 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.0.
