BPCL Gains 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 3.0%

BPCL share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 343.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 31,755.6 (up 3.0%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ONGC (up 6.3%) and GAIL (up 2.6%).

GUJARAT GAS (down 0.9%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BPCL has moved up from Rs 180.4 to Rs 343.8, registering a gain of Rs 163.5 (up 90.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,945.7 to 31,755.6, registering a gain of 67.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 121.8%), GAIL (up 100.7%) and BPCL (up 90.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,162.4 (up 0.7%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 2.2%) and Maruti Suzuki (up 2.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,198.8 (up 0.9%). ONGC and Coal India are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,953.5 to 79,162.4, registering a gain of 13,208.9 points (up 20.0%).

BPCL Financial Update...

BPCL net profit fell 75.8% YoY to Rs 24,622 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 101,677 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.1% to Rs 1,281,064 million during the period as against Rs 1,282,636 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, BPCL reported 81.8% decrease in net profit to Rs 21,311 million compared to net profit of Rs 116,815 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 58.2% to Rs 4,128,271 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 8.2.
