BPCL Gains 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 1.3%

BPCL share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 337.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 32,277.1 (up 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GUJARAT GAS (up 2.8%) and IOC (up 2.2%).

Petronet LNG (down 0.3%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BPCL has moved up from Rs 193.2 to Rs 337.3, registering a gain of Rs 144.1 (up 74.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,414.3 to 32,277.1, registering a gain of 66.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 99.1%), ONGC (up 92.6%) and HPCL (up 90.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,409.5 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are L&T (up 2.8%) and Bajaj Finserv (up 1.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,857.0 (up 0.1%). Divis Laboratories and L&T are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,355.7 to 81,409.5, registering a gain of 15,053.8 points (up 22.7%).

BPCL Financial Update...

BPCL net profit fell 75.8% YoY to Rs 24,622 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 101,677 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.1% to Rs 1,281,064 million during the period as against Rs 1,282,636 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, BPCL reported 81.8% decrease in net profit to Rs 21,311 million compared to net profit of Rs 116,815 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 58.2% to Rs 4,128,271 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 8.1.
