BHEL Gains 4%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 1.7%

BHEL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 294.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 70,054.1 (up 1.7%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are GMR Infra (up 4.9%) and SCHAEFFLER INDIA (up 4.4%).

ADANI GREEN ENERGY (down 0.8%) and GRINDWELL NORTON (down 0.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BHEL has moved up from Rs 84.3 to Rs 294.1, registering a gain of Rs 209.8 (up 249.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 38,798.4 to 70,054.1, registering a gain of 80.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 249.0%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 179.5%) and Bharat Electronics (up 143.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 76,584.2 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are L&T (up 2.3%) and Maruti Suzuki (up 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,337.6 (up 0.3%). ONGC and L&T are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,143.0 to 76,584.2, registering a gain of 13,441.2 points (up 21.3%).

BHEL Financial Update...

BHEL net profit fell 26.2% YoY to Rs 4,760 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 6,451 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.4% to Rs 82,603 million during the period as against Rs 82,270 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, BHEL reported 7.3% increase in net profit to Rs 4,774 million compared to net profit of Rs 4,447 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 8.5% to Rs 197,989 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -335.6.
