BHEL Gains 4%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 1.2%

BHEL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 304.7.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 72,483.5 (up 1.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 3.3%) and AIA Engineering (up 2.9%).

GRINDWELL NORTON (down 2.0%) and Carborundum Universal (down 1.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BHEL has moved up from Rs 94.8 to Rs 304.7, registering a gain of Rs 209.9 (up 221.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 41,608.8 to 72,483.5, registering a gain of 74.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 221.3%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 157.8%) and Bharat Electronics (up 144.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,786.9 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are NTPC (up 2.8%) and HDFC Bank (up 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,572.3 (up 0.2%). BPCL and NTPC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,795.1 to 80,786.9, registering a gain of 13,991.8 points (up 20.9%).

BHEL Financial Update...

BHEL net profit fell 26.2% YoY to Rs 4,760 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 6,451 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.4% to Rs 82,603 million during the period as against Rs 82,270 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, BHEL reported 7.3% increase in net profit to Rs 4,774 million compared to net profit of Rs 4,447 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 8.5% to Rs 197,989 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -347.7.
