BGR Energy Plunges 5%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 0.3%

BGR Energy share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 38.7.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 68,488.9 (down 0.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are BHEL (down 2.9%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (down 2.2%).

V GUARD IND. (up 2.6%) and GMR Infra (up 2.5%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BGR Energy has moved down from Rs 76.8 to Rs 38.7, registering a loss of Rs 38.0 (down 49.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 46,119.3 to 68,488.9, registering a gain of 48.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 130.8%), Siemens (up 109.4%) and Bharat Electronics (up 104.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,552.8 (up 0.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Bajaj Finance (up 5.5%) and Bajaj Finserv (up 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,566.7 (up 0.4%). Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Auto are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,571.9 to 80,552.8, registering a gain of 15,980.9 points (up 24.7%).

BGR Energy Financial Update...

BGR Energy net profit fell 21.8% YoY to Rs -1,117 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 917 million a year ago. Net sales rose 19.9% to Rs 1,738 million during the period as against Rs 1,450 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, BGR Energy reported 56.0% decrease in net profit to Rs -7,608 million compared to net loss of Rs 4,878 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 25.6% to Rs 10,124 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BGR Energy, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -0.4.
