BEML Plunges 5%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 2.1%

BEML share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 3,579.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 71,257.3 (down 2.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are HINDUSTAN AERO. (down 5.0%) and ABB (down 4.8%).

TIMKEN INDIA (up 0.2%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 0.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BEML has moved up from Rs 2,348.6 to Rs 3,579.1, registering a gain of Rs 1,230.5 (up 52.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 47,095.4 to 71,257.3, registering a gain of 51.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 111.5%), BHEL (up 101.3%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 94.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 83,188.5 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are NTPC (up 2.7%) and Nestle (up 2.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,411.4 (up 0.1%). NTPC and Nestle are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,596.8 to 83,188.5, registering a gain of 15,591.7 points (up 23.1%).

BEML Financial Update...

BEML net profit grew 6.1% YoY to Rs -705 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 750 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.9% to Rs 6,341 million during the period as against Rs 5,769 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, BEML reported 78.5% increase in net profit to Rs 2,818 million compared to net profit of Rs 1,579 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 4.0% to Rs 40,543 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BEML, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 52.1.
