BEML Plunges 4%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 1.7%

BEML share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 3,891.7.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 69,631.3 (down 1.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are BHEL (down 3.2%) and HINDUSTAN AERO. (down 2.5%).

Over the last one year, BEML has moved up from Rs 2,308.7 to Rs 3,891.7, registering a gain of Rs 1,583.0 (up 68.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 47,715.6 to 69,631.3, registering a gain of 45.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 124.2%), Siemens (up 111.0%) and Bharat Electronics (up 102.3%).

The BSE Sensex is at 80,968.0 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 2.0%) and Tata Steel (down 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,719.8 (down 0.3%). Tata Motors and Tata Steel are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,877.0 to 80,968.0, registering a gain of 15,091.0 points (up 22.9%).

BEML Financial Update...

BEML net profit grew 6.1% YoY to Rs -705 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 750 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.9% to Rs 6,341 million during the period as against Rs 5,769 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, BEML reported 78.5% increase in net profit to Rs 2,818 million compared to net profit of Rs 1,579 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 4.0% to Rs 40,543 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BEML, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 56.6.
