BEML Plunges 3%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 1.4%

BEML share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 4,057.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 71,452.5 (up 1.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are Honeywell Automation (down 1.6%) and SCHAEFFLER INDIA (down 1.1%).

Finolex Cables (up 3.6%) and GMR Infra (up 3.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BEML has moved up from Rs 2,053.7 to Rs 4,057.0, registering a gain of Rs 2,003.3 (up 97.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 43,066.5 to 71,452.5, registering a gain of 65.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 195.5%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 147.8%) and Bharat Electronics (up 134.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,291.1 (up 0.7%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are JSW Steel (up 3.0%) and HCl Tech. (up 2.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,216.9 (up 0.7%). JSW Steel and Adani Enterprises are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,782.8 to 79,291.1, registering a gain of 13,508.3 points (up 20.5%).

BEML Financial Update...

BEML net profit grew 6.1% YoY to Rs -705 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 750 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.9% to Rs 6,341 million during the period as against Rs 5,769 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, BEML reported 22.8% increase in net profit to Rs 1,579 million compared to net profit of Rs 1,286 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 10.1% to Rs 38,989 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BEML, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 59.0.
