BEML Gains 13%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 0.8%

BEML share price has zoomed 13% and is presently trading at Rs 5,216.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 74,574.1 (up 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are Thermax (up 1.8%) and Bharat Electronics (up 1.5%).

GRINDWELL NORTON (down 2.1%) and SCHAEFFLER INDIA (down 2.0%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BEML has moved up from Rs 1,594.0 to Rs 5,216.5, registering a gain of Rs 3,622.5 (up 227.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 40,540.3 to 74,574.1, registering a gain of 84.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 253.8%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 194.2%) and Bharat Electronics (up 160.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,532.1 (down 0.6%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are HDFC Bank (down 4.1%) and M&M (down 2.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,187.4 (down 0.5%). HDFC Bank and M&M are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,205.1 to 79,532.1, registering a gain of 14,327.1 points (up 22.0%).

BEML Financial Update...

BEML net profit grew 62.9% YoY to Rs 2,568 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,577 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.1% to Rs 15,137 million during the period as against Rs 13,879 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, BEML reported 22.8% increase in net profit to Rs 1,579 million compared to net profit of Rs 1,286 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 10.1% to Rs 38,989 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BEML, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 77.1.
