Ashok Leyland share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 234.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 53,556.7 (up 0.7%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE AUTO index today are Cummins India (up 6.4%) and Escorts (up 2.9%).

TUBE INVESTMENTS OF INDIA (down 2.1%) and Balkrishna Ind (down 0.8%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Ashok Leyland has moved up from Rs 178.2 to Rs 234.6, registering a gain of Rs 56.4 (up 31.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 38,411.1 to 53,556.7, registering a gain of 39.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were M&M (up 94.3%), Cummins India (up 88.9%) and Motherson Sumi (up 86.7%).

The BSE Sensex is at 80,063.7 (up 1.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are L&T (up 4.1%) and SBI (up 3.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Power Grid Corp. and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,227.0 (up 1.3%). ONGC and Bharat Electronics are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,930.8 to 80,063.7, registering a gain of 14,133.0 points (up 21.4%).

Ashok Leyland Financial Update...

Ashok Leyland net profit grew 33.3% YoY to Rs 7,552 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 5,664 million a year ago. Net sales declined 2.4% to Rs 111,476 million during the period as against Rs 114,167 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Ashok Leyland reported 98.4% increase in net profit to Rs 26,963 million compared to net profit of Rs 13,588 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 9.9% to Rs 457,906 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Ashok Leyland, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 24.3.
