Ashok Leyland share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 256.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 59,478.9 (up 0.4%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE AUTO index today are Cummins India (up 1.7%) and M&M (up 0.8%).

Hero Motocorp (down 1.3%) and TVS Motors (down 0.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Ashok Leyland has moved up from Rs 182.9 to Rs 256.8, registering a gain of Rs 73.9 (up 40.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 36,138.4 to 59,478.9, registering a gain of 64.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Motherson Sumi (up 98.1%), Bajaj Auto (up 97.3%) and Cummins India (up 96.3%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,355.7 to 81,328.5, registering a gain of 14,972.8 points (up 22.6%).

Ashok Leyland Financial Update...

Ashok Leyland net profit fell 5.7% YoY to Rs 5,495 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 5,830 million a year ago. Net sales rose 10.7% to Rs 107,245 million during the period as against Rs 96,913 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Ashok Leyland reported 98.4% increase in net profit to Rs 26,963 million compared to net profit of Rs 13,588 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 9.9% to Rs 457,906 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Ashok Leyland, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 28.5.
