Ashok Leyland share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 230.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 57,108.6 (up 1.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE AUTO index today are Escorts (up 2.1%) and M&M (up 1.9%).

Eicher Motor (down 0.3%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Ashok Leyland has moved up from Rs 173.4 to Rs 230.1, registering a gain of Rs 56.7 (up 32.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 35,653.1 to 57,108.6, registering a gain of 60.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Motherson Sumi (up 99.8%), Bajaj Auto (up 93.4%) and Cummins India (up 88.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are NTPC (up 2.7%) and HDFC Bank (up 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,568.7 (up 0.2%). BPCL and NTPC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,795.1 to 80,746.0, registering a gain of 13,950.9 points (up 20.9%).

Ashok Leyland Financial Update...

Ashok Leyland net profit grew 17.2% YoY to Rs 9,279 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 7,918 million a year ago. Net sales rose 2.8% to Rs 135,776 million during the period as against Rs 132,026 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Ashok Leyland reported 98.4% increase in net profit to Rs 26,963 million compared to net profit of Rs 13,588 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 9.9% to Rs 457,906 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Ashok Leyland, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 25.2.
