After starting the day on a flattish note with a positive bias, the benchmarks showcased heightened volatility and ended the day weak.

Indian bourses faced a bear attack again on Thursday owing to a weakness in the global markets and after surging significantly in the first two sessions of the ongoing week.

At the closing bell on Thursday, the BSE Sensex stood lower by 1,190 points (down 1.5%).

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed lower by 360 points (down 1.5%).

Adani Enterprises, SBI and Cipla were among the top gainers.

Infosys, M&M and HDFC Life Insurance on the other hand, were among the top losers.

The BSE Mid Cap ended flat and the BSE Small Cap index ended 0.4% higher.

Sectoral indices are trading negative with stocks in media sector, auto sector and IT sector witnessing most selling pressure.

Top buzzing stocks today

Sonata Software share price will be in focus today.

Shares of Sonata Software climbed over 3% to hit an intraday high of Rs 649 apiece on 28 November, following the announcement of a multi-million-dollar modernisation deal in Australia with a leading access solutions client.

The transformative deal involves streamlining and standardising the client's APAC business processes across 13 countries, ensuring real-time collaboration and enhanced operational efficiency across their value chain of customers, suppliers, distributors, and partners, according to the company.

Borosil Renewables will also be a top buzzing stock.

Borosil Renewables has approved the appointment of Melwyn Moses as the Chief Executive Officer with effect from 2 December.

Moses is joining Borosil Renewables from UPL Corporation, where he held the position of Global HSE Head and Global Formulations Head.

Why Nifty IT Index Fell 2%?

The Nifty IT index saw a sharp decline on Thursday, following an overall weakness in the market. The index slipped 2.1% hitting an intraday low at 43,087.25 points.  In the last 30 days, the index has moved up by 3 per cent, in comparison to NSE's Nifty50's drop of 1.2%.

Individually, shares of Infosys fell the most in intraday deals, dropping 3.1% at Rs 1,865.75 per share intraday, followed by L&T Technology Services also dropping 3% at Rs 5,268 per share. Tech Mahindra shares also fell 2.8% at Rs 1,706.8 a piece, while HCL Tech slipped to the day's low of Rs 1,849, down 2.2% in intraday trade.

Other IT stocks such as LTIMindtree, Mphasis, Wipro, Persistent Systems, TCS and Coforge also fell in the range of 1-2% each.

The weakness and profit booking in the IT stocks came after two consecutive days of the Nifty IT index hitting lifetime highs and making a new summit at 44,330.60 level on Wednesday.

Nisus Finance SME IPO

Nisus Finance Services has decided to open its Rs 1.1 bn initial share sale for subscription on December 4. This will be the first IPO from the SME segment in December and will be the 11th public issue with more than Rs 1 bn in size in a current calendar year.

The anchor book for institutional investors will be launched for a day on 3 December, while the public issue for all kinds of investors will close on 6 December.

The price band for the offer has been fixed at Rs 170-180 per share.

The financial services provider intends to raise Rs 1 bn via fresh issue component, and Rs 126 m through offer-for-sale of 7 lakh shares. Promoter Amit Anil Goenka is the selling shareholder in the offer-for-sale.

Amit Goenka and his wife Mridula Goenka-promoted company provide transaction advisory services, real estate and urban infrastructure fund and asset management. It also has an NBFC subsidiary Nisus Fincorp.

The Mumbai-based company will utilise fresh issue proceeds for augmenting fund setup, additional licenses, facility management services and fund management infrastructure in IFSC-Gift City (Gandhinagar), DIFC-Dubai (UAE) and FSC-Mauritius.

Servotech Secures Solar Plant Project

Servotech Power Systems secured a 5.6 MW on-grid rooftop solar power plant order from Uttarakhand New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA) worth Rs 302 m.

The firm stated that this order will act as a major push in building a solar-powered state overall, bringing India closer to becoming a solar-powered nation.

The project entails designing, supplying, installing, net metering, testing and commissioning of on-grid rooftop solar power plants.

Further, the project also involves Servotech delivering comprehensive warranty maintenance for the next 5 years, tending to 1 kW-1500 kW on-grid rooftop solar installations done at various strategic locations, which include government offices, colleges, buildings, hospitals and institutions, etc. across the state contributing to the states renewable energy goals and decarbonisation.

Servotech Power Systems develops tech-enabled EV charging solutions. The company offers an extensive range of AC and DC chargers which are compatible with different EVs and serve multiple applications such as commercial and domestic.

GAIL to Revive PTA Manufacturing Plant

GAIL re-engaged with process licensor INEOS to support the purified terephthalic acid (PTA) manufacturing plant's revitalisation.

Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) is a crucial raw material primarily used in the production of polyester fibres, plastics, and films.

With this, the company tends to revive GMPL's 1.25 MMTPA PTA manufacturing plant located in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Mangalore.

Following GAIL's acquisition of JBF through the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) under the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in June 2023, the company is now working to overcome the legacy challenges and ensure the plant's successful on-streaming and long-term operational stability.

GAIL (India) Limited is a state-owned natural gas processing and distribution company in India, established in 1984 and headquartered in New Delhi.
