Sensex Today Trades Marginally Higher | Suzlon Energy Jumps 4% | Bajaj Auto & Nestle Top Gainers

Asian markets were mixed ahead Thanksgiving holiday in the US, with stocks resuming their massive rally this month that has been fuelled by hopes of a more benign interest rate backdrop.

The Nikkei is trading 0.3% higher while the Hang Seng index is trading 0.6% lower. The Shanghai Composite is trading 0.2% lower.

US stocks ended higher on Wednesday on optimism that the Federal Reserve may be done raising interest rates and that the economy is still resilient.

At present, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty is trading marginally higher.

Baja Auto and Nestle are among the top gainers today.

Hindalco and Cipla on the other hand are among the top losers today.

Broader markets are trading on positive note. The BSE Mid Cap index is trading 0.2% higher and the BSE Small Cap index is trading higher by 0.6%.

Barring the stocks in healthcare sector, all other sectoral indices are trading on the positive note, with stocks in telecom sector, realty sector, and FMCG sector witnessing most buying.

Shares of Bajaj Auto and Eicher Motors hit their 52-week high today.

The rupee is trading at Rs 83.32 against the US dollar.

In commodity markets, gold prices are trading 0.2% higher at Rs 61,145 per 10 grams today.

Meanwhile, silver prices are trading 0.2% higher at Rs 72,987 per 1 kg.

CDSL hits 100 m Demat Account

Central Depository Services on 22 November said the number of demat accounts on its platform has crossed the 100 million mark.

Central Depository Services (India), or CDSL, began operations in 1999 and facilitates holding and transacting securities in the electronic form and settlement of trades on stock exchanges.

Its major shareholders are the BSE, Standard Chartered Bank, PPFAS Mutual Fund, LIC, and Canara Bank.

The company maintains and services 100 m+ demat accounts of investors or beneficial owners (BOs) spread across India. These BOs are serviced by CDSL's 580+ depository participants from over 20,000+ locations.

The subsidiaries of CDSL include CDSL Ventures, which is the first and the largest KYC registration agency since 2008 with over 45 million records; CDSL Insurance Repository and CDSL Commodity Repository.

Shares of India's leading depository are trading at a 52-week high.

TVS Motors Forays into Vietnam

TVS Motor Company announced its entry into Vietnam in collaboration with Minh Long Motors - its distribution partner.

The homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer revealed that it would offer a range of scooters and undergone motorcycles across multiple price points.

The company's entry into Vietnam is its second major global foray in two weeks. Last week, the company announced its entry into Europe starting with France.

It is to be mentioned that TVS Motor products are sold in over 80 countries spanning the geographies of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Exports comprise nearly 25% of the company's business as of H1 FY 2023 - an endorsement of the company's high quality, technologically superior offerings and its R&D capability.

TVS NTORQ 125, TVS Callisto, TVS Dazz, and TVS Rockz will be available in all showrooms.

The company also announced strategic engagement with Amazon India to strengthen its electric mobility, infrastructure and connected services, making it one of the best two-wheeler EV stocks in India.

TVS Motor manufactures a wide range of two-wheelers from mopeds to racing-inspired motorcycles. The company also manufactures three-wheelers.

Power Grid Corporation to Invest in Transmission Projects

State-owned Power Grid Corp board, on Wednesday, approved a proposal to invest about Rs 367 crore in electricity transmission projects.

The Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects of Powergrid, in its meeting held on 22 November 2023, has accorded investment approval for two projects.

The first project which got approval is an augmentation of transformation capacity by 1X1500 MVA (3rd), 765/400 KV ICT at Maheshwaram (PG) substation in Telangana at an estimated cost of Rs 1.4 bn.

It is scheduled to be commissioned within 21 months from the date of intimation by CTUIL (Central Transmission Utility) letter on 10 July 2023.

The board also approved the transmission System for Evacuation of Power from the Potential RE Zone in the Khavda Area of Gujarat under phase IV (7GW)- Part E4 at an estimated cost of Rs 2.2 bn.
