Asian shares are trading on a positive note today, tracking dovish signals from the two largest central banks in the region, as the Bank of Japan maintained ultra-low interest rates and as the People's Bank of China began trimming borrowing costs.
The Nikkei is trading marginally higher and the Hang Seng index is trading higher by 0.7%. The Shanghai Composite is trading 0.4% lower.
US stocks ended higher on Thursday, revving the longest rally for Wall Street in a year and a half into a higher gear.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 1.3% higher , and the tech heavy Nasdaq Composite ended 1.1% higher.

Back home, Indian share markets are trading on a positive note following the trend on SGX Nifty.
At present, the BSE Sensex is trading higher by 285 points. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty is trading up by 80.5 points.
Hindalco and Bajaj Finserv are among the top gainers today.
BPCL and TCS on the other hand are among the top losers today.
Broader markets are trading on a positive note. The BSE Mid Cap index is trading 0.5% higher and the BSE Small Cap index is trading higher by 0.8%.
Sectoral indices are trading on a mixed note with stocks in the capital goods sector and banking sector witnessing most buying. While stocks in the IT sector and oil & gas sector are witnessing selling pressure.
Shares of Nestle and Britannia hit their 52-week high today.
The rupee is trading at Rs 81.92 against the US dollar.
In commodity markets, gold prices are trading higher by 0.2% at Rs 59,260 per 10 grams today.
Meanwhile, silver prices are trading flat at Rs 72,105 per 1 kg.
