Mkts gain in Saturday trade

The Indian markets opened for a brief one-and-a-half-hour trading session today. Buying activity across index heavyweights led the indices to gain from Friday’s closing levels, to finally close in the positive. While the BSE Sensex closed higher by almost 125 points, the NSE Nifty gained about 40 points. Midcap and small cap stocks also saw decent gains closing higher by 1.4% and 1.5% respectively. Sectoral indices across the board saw gains, led by stocks from the realty, metal and oil and gas sectors.
